Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and eating at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full time in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian food and culture while in Italy, which has influenced her cooking style. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children who are struggling. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for the condition of children with diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell is on the road to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne has stated throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able be able to share what's most important for her.
