Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European concerts and festivals and even to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta currently, she is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician playing and singing at the local church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B culture. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You A House 12, was released only in Japan. It's been remixed numerous times and has become a staple in her live performance. She has also contributed her vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for the stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition for her daily shows during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's inaugural in 2009.
